Our Wonderlab galleries welcome schools and families to get hands-on with exciting exhibits and enjoy live science shows and demonstrations. The Wonderlab+_website and the Wonderlab AR app provide a digital extension of the in-person Wonderlab experience.
Wonderlab+
Wonderlab+ is SMG’s online destination for children and families. The website features activities, videos, quizzes and games that help families discover science together and experiment with STEM subjects at home. We worked in consultation with end users during development to ensure it would appeal to everyone, including families with low to medium science capital, who might not feel STEM is ‘for them’. From concept design to accessibility, Wonderlab+ is designed to help all families feel like they belong. Wonderlab+ is generously supported by Urenco.
Wonderlab AR
Wonderlab AR is a free app created to help users discover the extraordinary science behind ordinary objects using augmented and geo-spatial technologies. Developed in partnership with PRELOADED and powered by Niantic Lightship, the app reveals the scientific phenomena hiding in our real world and uncovers how our daily lives are shaped by science. Wonderlab AR uses the latest technologies to highlight the science and maths at the heart of familiar objects, from streetlights to zebra crossings.
